This weekend I noticed an article and its survey about pay raises for this year. Despite the cost of living going way way way (is that enough way’s?) in the US this year only about 14% of the working population will be getting raises approaching 5%. Another 18% will be lucky to get 1.4% raises. This study, by Mercer LLC. About 30% of workers will get around 3.3%, which as you probably already know, is less than inflation.
Effectively, your making less money now than last year, despite which of these raise brackets your in. 10% raises, and maybe you’d be ok.
What are you doing to get by? How are you going supplement your income to beat the increases in cost of living?
